Broadband ADSL configuration for Billion 6404VGP, 7402VGP, or 7404VGP-M Routers
This guide is suitable for Billion 6404VGP, 7402VGP, and 7404VGP-M routers.

Billion 6404VGP, 7402VGP, or 7404VGP-M Cable Setup
Connection will vary depending on whether you have a Standard or Naked ADSL service. Additional connections such as Wireless and VoIP also vary from model to model, and may not be appropriate for your modem.

Cabling for Standard and Naked ADSL2+ connections
- Connect a phone cable from the Line or Wall Socket port on the ADSL splitter to the telephone port on your wall.
- Connect a phone cable from the ADSL Modem port on the ADSL splitter to the ADSL port on the back of the router.
NOTE: Ensure that your cable is less than 3 metres long: longer cables can affect the performance of your service. - If you are not configuring NodePhone, connect the telephone to the Local Phone port on the ADSL splitter.
NOTE: All devices connected to the ADSL line on any socket in the premises also need to be connected to an ADSL filter. - Connect one end of the supplied Ethernet cable to the network port on your computer. Connect the other end to the Ethernet or LAN ports on the back the router.
- Connect your wireless aerial if appropriate.
- Connect the power supply to the back of the router, and plug it into your 240v power outlet.
- Switch on the router.
Cabling for Regional Fixed-Wireless or Fibre to the Premises connections
- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the WANport on your router, then:
- If you have Fixed-Wireless: connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your Power over Ethernet device.
- If you have Fibre to the Premises: connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the 'DATA' port on your FTTP wall outlet.
- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the network port on your computer. Connect the other end to the Ethernet or LAN ports on the back of the router.
- Connect your wireless aerial if appropriate.
- Connect the power supply to the back of the router, and plug it into your 240v power outlet.
- Switch on the router.
Configuring your Internet connection
Step 1
- Make sure that your computer is connected to your Billion router with an Ethernet cable.
- Open your preferred web browser - for example, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox.
- Enter the following number into the address bar and then hit Enter on your keyboard:
- 192.168.1.254 (this number is called an IP Address)

Step 2
- The modem Log In page will open. You will be prompted for a username and password.
Username: | admin |

Password: | admin |
This is the router's default username and password. We recommend that you change the password for security reasons. |
- Click OK to log in to the router.
Step 3
- Select Quick Start or ATA/Router Mode from the menu to the left of the screen.
Step 4
- Enter the following information into the corresponding fields:
Encapsulation: | PPPoE |

Set DNS Automatically: | Enable |
Username: | Your Internode username, for example, username@internode.on.net. If your username does not include @internode.on.net you will be unable to connect. |
Password: | Your Internode password (Lost your password? Click here!) |
- Do not change the Optional Settings (IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Default Gateway).
- Click Apply to apply your changes.

Step 5
- Click the Save Config button at the bottom right of the screen.
- You will be asked to confirm that you wish to save the changes. Click Apply to save your settings to the modem.

Congratulations! You have successfully configured your Internet service.
